Pricing & Reimbursement Strategy
Sebastien has worked over 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry in different roles, including market access, marketing, sales and scientific research. For the past 10 years, he gained a wide-ranging expertise in pricing and reimbursement strategies from his work with companies in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and diagnostic tests. As a trained pharmacist, he also practiced in retail and hospital pharmacy before working in the pharmaceutical industry.
In addition to being one of the principal consultant at Synergyx, Sebastien is dedicated to help raise awareness and public education of important health conditions by doing volunteer work and raising funds for the Arthritis Society, the Alzheimer’s Society and the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, among others. In his life and his work, Sebastien is passionate about the things that he does. To keep his mental and physical shape always sharp, Sebastien practices calisthenics, cross-training and yoga, as well as mountain biking, snowboarding and skiing.
Practice Leader – Health economics
Richard is a senior economist in the healthcare industry with over 15 years of experience in the industry as an expert consultant. At Brogan Inc., he led a team of economic consultants serving pharmaceutical firms, insurers and governments and making strategic market assessment, data analysis and health economics. He was also forecasting and business insights manager at Shire pharmaceuticals where he led analysis and strategic planning initiatives.
As an expert health economist, he conducts projects in pharmacoeconomics, forecasting and market access, and advises insurers and benefit consultants on data analytics and drug plan management optimization. In his roles, he developed the analytical skills and his in-depth understanding of market dynamics to integrate various sources of information and generate the insights needed for decision-making. Richard Lavoie holds a master in applied economics (HEC Montréal).
Clinical and Pharmacoeconomics
Yen holds a bachelor degree in pharmacy and diploma specialized in pharmacoeconomics . She is a registered pharmacist in the province of Quebec and maintains an active license. Yen is a healthcare professional with over 15 years of experience in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries.
In her role as market access leader at Bristol-Myers Squibb Canada and Otsuka Pharmaceutical Canada, Yen has led several initiatives in pricing and reimbursement for specialty drugs. Yen has worked with several public and private organizations, including INESSS-RAMQ, ESC (a pharmacy benefits management company) and IA (national private insurance company). In her role as an expert reviewer at INESSS, ESC and IA, she has evaluated over a hundred drug submissions and healthcare policy changes. Her expertise also includes the development of pharmacoeconomics and budget impact analysis models.
Yen is an active scientific writer and has collaborated with multiples well known magazines such as Avantages, Assurance and QC Pharmacie in the publication of articles on drug utilization and their impact on drug plan management. She also participates as a writer and reviewer of the Petit Guide en Infetilité published by the Hospital Sainte-Justine in Montreal. She also participates as an active member in the Board of Directors of the FPQ, ACIQ and PEBC.
Market Access Analyst
Pricing & Reimbursement Strategy
Herve joined Synergyx as Market Access Analyst. In this role, he analyses health and drug policies and regulations in Canada. He is also responsible for secondary research in support of environmental scans and systematic literature reviews.
He has worked over 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry in different roles, including key account management, marketing, sales, coaching and training. Herve was responsible for the development of pharmaceutical business with clinicians and key opinion leaders and was managing several major client accounts in France. From this experience, he gained expertise in many therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular diseases, infectious disease and HIV.
Herve brings to Synergyx a strong experience in marketing strategy, sales and stakeholder relations.
Herve holds a university degree in Marketing, with a specialization on health products. He is currently completing a business management program at the Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Montreal.
